The Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies has published the eighth edition of the semi-annual journal on historical studies , Ostour. This issue includes: "How Jules Michelet Writes History" (Yassine Zainoune), "The Murder of Hujr ibn Adi and the Ideological Reading of History" (Amr Osman) and "Aspects of Relational History: Morocco and the: Morocco and the Ottoman Empire between the Sixteenth and Eighteenth Centuries" (Abderrahmane El Moudden ), and "Late Piracy off the Rif Coast in the 19th Century" (Muhammed Ahmiane), "Iraqi Specificities and the Refutation of the “Artificialness” of Iraq " (Nahar Mohammed Nouri). The "translations" section, in this issue, includes the introduction of Carlo Ginzburg's  book The Cheese and the Worms: The Cosmos of a Sixteenth Century Miller . Translated by Thaer Deeb

 The issue also contains three book reviews: Rabhi Radwan's review History of Minorities in the Far Maghreb:The Case of Christians during the Middle Ages;  Fawzi Boukhreis's review of the book Soldiers, Servants and Concubines:

A History of Slavery in Moroccoby author Mohamed Al-Naji; and Muhannad Mubaydeen's review of The Emirs of Houran:The Al Fawwaz as the Sheikhs of the Sardiya, by author klaib Sa’oud Fawaz.  The issue closes with four papers from the Ostour seminar "One Hundred Years after the Balfour

Declaration' as part of the proceedings of the ACRPS Fifth Conference for Historical Studies: The Nakba andthe Cause of Palestine in Arab History Writing held between May 12–14, 2018 in Qatar.  The symposium, attended by Arab historians and scholars, discussed the international and Arab contexts and repercussions of the Balfour Declaration.

Ostour will publish a second portion of the symposium proceedings in its upcoming ninth issue.
