Issue 19 of the biannual peer-reviewed journal Ostour has been published by the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies and the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies. The issue features the following studies: "The Periodization and Writing of Morocco's History" by Mohamed Houbaida; "Egypt As Seen by a Persian Traveller (438-44 AH/1045-52 AD)" by Abdelmajid Bihini; "Social History of 18th- and 19th- Century Morocco: The Role of the Makhzen in Deepening Livelihood Crises" by Mohamed Aitjamal; "British Colonial Knowledge and the Case of Oman: Approaches and Political Implementation" by Nassar bin Saif Alsaadi; and "Rewriting the Prophetic Sīra in Egypt in the 1930s and 1940s: Muhammad Ahmad Jad al-Mawla, Taha Hussein, Mohammed Hussein Heikal, and Abbas Mahmoud al-Aqqad" by Amr Osman"A Historical Approach to the Teaching of Human Rights Values in Morocco" ; by Mostafa Hassani Idrissi and Mohammed Zernine.

The issue's Translations section features two articles: "Le catéchisme révolutionnaire" by François Furet (translated by Mohamed Houbaida) and "The Social and Economic Circumstances of Tripoli in the Mid-17th Century (According to the Tahrir Defteri Dated 1645)" by Enver Çakar (translated by Ghina Mrad).

Book reviews include Hasan Hafdi Aloui's analysis of Fragmented Identities and the Diaspora of Elites on the Margins of the Islamic World by Lotfi Ben Miled and Abdellah Herhar's review of From the Year of the Elephant to the Year of Lamerican: Oral Memory and the Historical Record by Abdelahad Sebti. Next, the Primary Sources section includes Nasser Ahmed Ibrahim's study "Rosetta, Summer of 1799: A Reading into Oil and Rice Documents".

The issue concludes with the Ostour Symposium section, featuring the second set of papers from the symposium on "The Experience of Historical Writing in Morocco: Contexts and Trends" held on 27-29 October 2022. The three studies included are: "History and Society" by Abdelmajid Kaddouri; "Writing Social and Intellectual History in Light of the Experience of the Training and Research Unit: The Economic and Social History of the Islamic West" by Ibrahim al-Qadiri Boutchiche; and "Research Findings in Ottoman and Iranian Studies in Morocco" by Abderrahim Benhadda.
