His research interests focus on historical and travel productions in the Ottoman state and Morocco, and to issues pertaining to Ottoman archives. He edited numerous texts related to Morocco's history such as the "History of the Saadian State" (1994), "The Journey of the Minister to Ransom the Captive (2002) and "Letters on Jews" (2005). His own publications include "The Ottoman State: Institutions, Economics and Culture (2008)", and "Morocco and Sublime Porte between the Mid-16^th Century and the End of the 18^th Century".

His latest research deals with aspects of modernity and its process of materialization. He authored many publications, among them "The Brother, the Subject and the Citizen: the Dynamics of the Individual's Political Status in Tunisia" (in French, 2016), "The Research Experience of the 'Diraset Magharibia' Laboratory" (2012), "Ottoman Tunisia: State-Building and Land Management" (2012) and "Property and Social Strategies in Tunis" (1999). He was awarded his Doctorate d'Etat in 1995, and his Doctorate third cycle in 1979. 

He is the first Qatari to hold a PhD in History. Previously Professor of History at Qatar University, he was also the Chairman of the Department of History and the Director of the Center for Documentation and Humanities. Aqil was the president of the GCC History and Archeology Society for two mandates and co-founded many regional and international history associations. He authored many publications, among them his PhD thesis "International Competition in the Arab Gulf 1622-1763", and "The Arab Gulf: Studies in the Historical Origins and Political Evolution" (2013).

​Professor of Higher Education at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tunis. Head of the Laboratory for the History of the Mediterranean Economy and Societies. Her research interests focus on the history of early Islam and Arab societal current affairs. She worked as Director and later Dean of the History Department at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Tunis and managing editor of the Les Cahiers de Tunisie journal. Her most prominent books include The Companions of Muhammad and their Role in the Rise of Islam (1996), and Authority and the Obsession of Legitimacy in the History of Islam (2014).

​Associate Professor of History, Department of Humanities at Qatar University. His research interests are Islamic history, historiography, language, law, and Islamic studies. He has published many articles in peer-reviewed academic journals, and his writing focuses on the history of the Zahiri madhhab and the origins of its jurisprudence, world history, intellectual history, and the linguistic turn and its impact on historical studies.

She founded and directed the Heritage and Society History Laboratory (2012-2018), chaired the master's and doctoral training team “Modern and Contemporary Maghreb: History and Civilization” (2011-2018), and served as the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences at Constantine 2 University (2014-2020). She has published many books and academic articles, including: Constantine in the era of Salah Bey Al-Bayat (2005), Marriage and the Family in Constantine in the 18th Century AD (2007), and introduced and edited the book Salah Bey Endowment Register (2009), and she supervised a book by a group of authors titled Institutions and Social and Political Mobility in Algeria and Tunisia (2019).

​Professor of European History at Ibn Tofail University in Morocco. His interests relate to the fields of historical anthropology, the curriculum, and translation. He previously worked as Director of the Laboratory for the History and Sociology of the Maghreb, and a Visiting Professor at the François-Rabelais University, France (2012). His recent publications include Europe in the Nineteenth Century: Napoleon Bonaparte (2021), Historical Schools: Berlin, Sorbonne, and Strasbourg, from Curriculum to Approach (2018), and History of Europe: From Feudalism to Enlightenment (2016).

​Professor of Modern and Contemporary History, with a Professorship from Cairo University (2016). He is currently working in the Humanities Department at Qatar University. His research focuses on social history and is concerned with working on non-traditional sources, such as private papers and letters, through which he builds an anonymous individual biographical history, in an effort to write an alternative social history for Egypt. He has published several scholarly articles, including “Love in the Time of Colonialism” (2018), “Etiquette and Ritual of Drinking Coffee” (2014), and “A Social History of Concubines in Egypt: The Case of Nafisa Khatun”(2015). His most recently published book is Epidemics and Social Crises in Egypt in the Seventeenth Century (2021).

​Professor of Modern and Contemporary History at Al-Mustansiriya University, in Iraq. His research interests focus on European intellectual movements, and Iraq in the late and contemporary Ottoman era. Among his most prominent publications is the book British Secularism: A Study in the Evolution and Evolution of the Concept (2015). He also translated the book The Ayatollahs and Democracy in Iraq (2019) by Juan Cole, and has published many articles, including: “Iraq is not Artificial: Iraqi Trends and the Refutation of the Artificial State” (2018), and “The Problematic of Ottoman and Western Narratives about Arab Shia: Social Engineering and Politics” Integration and Segregation in Late Ottoman Iraq" in the book Arab Shia: Identity and Citizenship (2019).
